It all started with a text message from a friend with a photo idea. "What are you doing in the morning? Lets shoot in FIDI (Financial district) at 10am." I was okay with that it. It was a pretty safe time, not early so why not. A few minutes later I get this: "I mean, we could be crazy and try and shoot on the Brooklyn Bridge around sun rise? How early do you think we have to get up?"
I looked at my weather app to see the time of sunrise. 5:36am. She said Lets do it.
I am so grateful for this. At some point in my photography career I forgot about that beauty of early morning light. Maybe because of my work schedule or laziness on my part but I would replace the morning light with the evening light. I was amazed to arrive at the Brooklyn Bridge on a beautiful morning and find it empty. No tourist, a few bikers, and one couple taking photos. No tourist groups, no crowds of Citi bikes, no selfie sticks. Just a clear walkway with beautiful light. Here are some photos from that 5:30am shoot with Laurie.
So remember chase that morning light and create!
